Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) has signed an agreement with Renewable Energy Systems (RES) to acquire a wind farm located near its Keadby power station in North Lincolnshire, UK.

The 34-turbine Keadby wind farm project, which is the largest consented wind farm in England, was established by RES Group after receiving planning consent in 2008.

Keadby Wind Farm will have about 68 and 85MW of installed capacity capable of generating electricity sufficient to power 38,000 to 47,000 UK homes.

Construction on the wind farm is scheduled to begin in late 2011 and will be complete by early 2014.
