Lanco Solar, in consortium with Juwi Renewables, has received a contract from the electric utility Maharashtra State Power Generation for the construction of a 75MW photovoltaic solar facility in Maharashtra, India.
Under the Rs8.84bn ($200m) contract, the consortium will use crystalline technology to build the facility in Dhule district.
The solar facility is expected to become operational by mid February 2012.
Lanco Group chairman Madhusudhan Rao said the company has also signed power purchase agreements for 141MW of solar power with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam under the National Solar Mission and with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam under the state policy.
Lanco Solar is a fully owned subsidiary of Lanco Infratech.
