SunPower has installed a 3.5MW solar power system at Macy’s online fulfilment centre in Arizona, US.

The system is equipped with SunPower T5 solar roof tiles which combine a high-efficiency solar panel, frame and mounting system into a single pre-engineered unit.

SunPower is also providing on-going operations and maintenance services at the project site in Goodyear.

The US Environmental Protection Agency has estimated that the system is expected to reduce about 3,500t of carbon dioxide emissions a year.

Arizona Public Service (APS) has aided in the construction of the system by providing financial rebates through the APS renewable energy incentive programme.
