The Shoshone-Paiute Tribes Business Council has signed a resolution supporting the construction of the China Mountain Wind Project in Twin Falls County, Idaho, and Elko County, Nevada, in the US.
China Mountain Wind, a subsidiary of RES America Developments and NV Energy will develop the plant on 30,000 acres of property owned by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the Idaho Department of Lands and private landowners.
The plant will be equipped with 400 wind turbines, which will be capable of producing up to 400MW of electricity.
According to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), the plant will be capable of generating energy sufficient to power more than 100,000 homes.
