Korea Southern Power has started the construction of a $3bn low emissions power plant in Seoul, South Korea.

The 2,000MW green-power plant will employ carbon capture and storage technology and low-calorie coal to ensure stringent standards on greenhouse-gas emissions.

Toshiba will supply the ultra-supercritical steam turbines for the plant, which has been designed by Kepco Engineering & Construction, reports Bloomberg.

Work is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015.
