State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has secured a contract worth INR620m ($13.7m) from the Karnataka Power Corporation to build a 5MW solar power plant in Mandya, Karnataka.
BHEL will construct the grid-connected solar power plant near Shivasamudram.
Work under the contract includes design, manufacture, supply, installation, operation and maintenance of the solar power plant.
This contract brings the total capacity of the solar photovoltaic power projects being executed by BHEL to 16MW, reports The Hindu.
