Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP) a subsidiary of Summit Power Group, will sign a 25-year power purchase agreement with CPS Energy.
Under the agreement, TCEP will sell 200MW of power generated from its 400MW integrated gasification combined cycle power plant.
CPS Energy President & CEO Doyle Beneby said that the plant is a clean coal-fuelled power project and will capture about 90% of the carbon dioxide, 99% of sulfur, 95% of mercury and also remove 90% of nitrogen oxides produce in the process.
Summit Power group president Eric Redman said, “We have a model project that will change how the world views coal-fuelled power and its ability to capture almost all its carbon dioxide, and CPS Energy’s involvement makes that possible.”
