The US Department of Energy has offered a $135.8m loan guarantee for the construction of a 99MW wind project in the state of New Hampshire.

Noble Environmental Power will use the funds to construct the Granite Reliable Power Windpark located about 110 miles north of Concord.

The wind farm is being sponsored by Brookfield Renewable Power and Freshet Wind Energy, who would receive the loan from the WestLB bank.

The plant will be equipped with 33 Vestas wind turbines with a capacity of 3MW each.

The power generated from the plant will be sold to the Central Vermont Public Service and Green Mountain Power.

WestLB has applied for the loan guarantee under the Financial Institution Partnership Program of the DOE.
