Conergy, in partnership with Lark Energy, has completed the construction of the UK’s largest solar power plant in Nottinghamshire.

The 5MW plant covers a total area of 146,000m2 and is equipped with 21,600 Conergy PowerPlus modules on about 40km of Conergy SolarLinea mounting systems.

The power plant is capable of generating 4,860MWh of clean energy, which is enough to power about 1300 homes.

Conergy UK head Robert Goss said the construction of the plant has been completed two weeks ahead of the deadline.

“All parties showed great determination to support this exciting project which will be one of a very few large solar projects installed in 2011,” added Goss.
