Electric utility company Centrica has signed an agreement to contract its 260MW Brigg power plant as reserve capacity to the UK national grid.
The contract is expected to start this month and continue until the first quarter of 2013, reports Reuters.
Centrica also signed an agreement with the national grid to supply power from its Peterborough and Kings Lynn power stations to replace disrupted supplies caused by network maintenance until 2 September 2011.
The contracts will help Centrica to resume production from these three units, which were closed due to low profitability.
