Petrovietnam Technical Services (PTSC) will construct a 1,200MW coal-fired thermal power plant in Hau Giang, Vietnam, following the receipt of contract from its parent company Petrovietnam.

The new Song Hau 1 thermal power plant will use the coal imported from Indonesia and Australia.

The plant will be equipped with two turbines and will be capable of generating 7.8 billion kw/h per year.

Construction of the plant is expected to be complete in 45 months time, reports Reuters.
