Suzlon Energy has secured a contract from Indian Oil to build, operate and maintain a 48.3MW wind facility in Andhra Pradesh, India.
The plant will be equipped with 23 units of Suzlon’s S88 – 2.1MW wind turbines and the power generated from the plant will be sold to a local power utility.
Suzlon Group founder chairman and managing director Tulsi Tanti said this is Indian Oil’s second project with Suzlon.
The company built Indian Oil’s first wind project in the Kutch district of Gujarat in January 2009.
