Statkraft SCA Vind plans to begin construction of a 60MW Stamasen 1 wind farm in central Sweden next month.

The €108m plant will be equipped with 26 wind turbines of 2.3MW each and is expected to generate about 200GWh of electricity per annum.

The project, slated to commence operations in 2012, is a part of a programme to install 115MW of wind capacity in Solleftea and Stromsund in Jamtland and Vasternorrland counties in Central Sweden.

Statkraft SCA Vind is owned by Statkraft and Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget, holding a 60% and 40% interest respectively.
