Enel Green Power has secured power supply contracts for three wind projects in Brazil, through the 2011 Brazilian New Energy Auction.

The three wind farms, totalling 193MW of installed capacity, will be built with an investment of €300m and located in the Bahia, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte, the latter in consortium with Endesa.

Upon completion in 2014, the farms are expected to generate 770GWh per year, which is sufficient to serve about 500,000 homes in Brazil.

Enel has been granted the right to sell specific amounts of power from its wind farms to a pool of regulated distribution companies with 20-year power supply contracts.

Additional energy volumes will be sold in the market through long-term pre-established commitments.
