Initec Energia has secured a €260m contract to construct a 500MW combined-cycle gas-fired power plant in Maranhao, Brazil.

The company secured the deal from MPX Energia, an energy company based in Brazil.

The project is expected to begin commercial operations in 2014, reports Bloomberg.

Initec Energia is a subsidiary of Actividades de Construccion y Servicios.
