BNB Renewable Energy and Enfinity America plan to co-develop BNB’s 9.8MW solar project in Ohio, US, under a joint development agreement signed between the two companies.

Under the agreement, Enfinity will arrange the finance for the project and will co-manage the installation, contracts and future operations with BNB.

The project, which is being constructed on 60 acres of land at food processing company Campbell Soup’s production facility is expected to produce 15% of the annual electricity requirements of the plant.

SunPower will serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction services contractor for the project and will install its SunPower Tracker system and solar modules.

Food giant Campbell Soup will purchase the entire power generated from the plant, while FirstEnergy Solutions will purchase the solar renewable energy credits from the project.

The partnership between BNB and Enfinity was established by Bostonia Partners.

The project is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2011 and is expected to generate 4.7 million kWh of energy during the first year of operation.
