BGR Energy Systems electrical projects division has secured a Rs4.44bn ($96m) turnkey implementation contract from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL).
The firm will supply, test and commission main plant electrical systems, including nuclear island electricals, which will be installed at two nuclear power plants in Rajasthan and Gujarat in India.
BGR’s Electrical Projects Division President and CEO V Balakrishnan said “The order is a measure of the confidence that major power generators in both the public and private sectors have come to vest in BGR’s competitive capabilities. This happens to be the single biggest order for main plant electricals received by BGR Energy so far and would facilitate qualifications in the future.”
The company BGR expects the project to be completed between September 2015 and March 2016.
