GE has received a contract from E.ON to supply 300MW of wind turbines to be installed at its two wind farms being developed in Illinois, US.

Under the contract, GE will supply and install 188 GE 1.6 wind turbines, and provide operation and maintenance services for E.ON’s Settlers Trail and Pioneer Trail Wind Farms.

Upon completion, the wind farms will generate enough power for approximately 115,000 houses in the US.

The supply of the new units will be covered under an existing ECRNA-GE operation and maintenance service agreement, which will maximise turbine availability and production across ECRNA’s installed base of GE wind turbines in the US.
