Fluor has secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) for the 540MW combined cycle Ferguson replacement project in Texas, US.
LCRA is expected to receive a permit from US Environmental Protection Agency by the end of 2011.
Construction on the project will begin once LCRA receives all required permits and Fluor expects to receive a notice-to-proceed to replace the 37-year-old, 420MW Thomas C Ferguson Power Plant.
Fluor’s power group president Dave Dunning said this new EPC contract for LCRA continues their 30-year successful track record of providing engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services for power generating units in Texas.
