Vestas has secured a contract from developer Blue Power & Energy to supply 39.6MW of wind turbines for the La Fé – San Martin wind farm in Nicaragua.

Under the contract, Vestas will supply and install 22 units of the V90-1.8MW platform, a VestasOnline business SCADA system and provide maintenance services for five years under the AOM 4000 agreement.

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin later this year and the project is expected to be commercially operational early next year.

Upon completion, the plant will be capable of generating about 150GWh of energy a year.
