Russia’s Energoatom unit 2 at Bilibino nuclear power plant was restarted after planned maintenance, the company has announced.

Presently, units 2, 3 and 4 are in operation while unit 1 is in cold reserve.

Bilibino nuclear power plant is presently operating safely and efficiently, the company said.

The unit 3 at the station will be stopped for mid-term planned maintenance on 24 June, 2009.

The Bilibino nuclear power plant is situated in north-east of Russia beyond the polar circle in the territory of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
