Norway’s SN Power has been awarded a contract by the Peruvian Government to build a hydroelectric project in Peru.
Construction work on the US$300m, 168.2MW Cheves project is scheduled to begin in early 2010 for completion by July 2014.
SN Power will also build a 220kW transmission line for evacuating the generated electricity.
The power plant is expected to lead to the pollution reduction equivalent of taking 250,000 vehicles off the road.
