The environment ministers of Brazil, South Africa, India and China will meet in New Delhi later this month ahead of the Copenhagen Accord deadline to submit emissions targets.

The so-called basic bloc of countries are expected to submit plans to curb greenhouse gas emissions, which will be included in the annex to the Copenhagen Accord that features commitments from developing countries.

The annex will include a pledge from China to cut its carbon intensity by 40 to 45% by 2020, a pledge from India to reduce carbon emissions by 20 to 25%, Brazil by 36% and South Africa by 34% by 2020.

The meet will also discuss plans to convince other countries to sign the accord.
