Renewable energy device maker Zenergy Power has approved Honeywell to supply chemicals for making superconductors used in generators to lessen the cost of wind power generation.

UK based engineering manufacturer Honeywell will provide specialist chemicals for the mass-production of second generation superconductor wire by Zenergy.

Zenergy says the application of 2G wire in the future production of superconductor electricity generators will reduce the cost of producing electricity from offshore wind and run-of-river hydropower projects.

In September 2008, Zenergy Power and Honeywell entered a five-year joint development agreement to establish a secure supply of industrial scale quantities of chemical precursors for Zenergy Power.
