The UK Government’s Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) scheme, which offers users cash for generating domestic solar power, is expected to boost the use of solar energy according to power company npower.

Households generating their own electricity from solar power could earn up to £960 ($1,445) per year based on earnings of 41.3p for every unit of electricity generated.

The introduction of FITs has seen a huge increase in the number of people opting for solar energy, according to npower.
