Russia and China are teaming up to build the second stage of the Tianwan nuclear power plant in China,.

Russia’s Atomstroyexport and China’s Jiangsu nuclear power corporation have signed a frame agreement to build two VVER-1000 reactors with a power output of 1,000MW according to Ria Novosti.

Two VVER-1000 reactors built in the first stage began operations in 2007.

Russia and China agreed that Moscow would receive $1.8bn to build the second stage of the plant.
