GE plans to invest about €340m to develop or expand its offshore wind power facilities in four European countries.

GE will invest €75m in Norway, €50m in Sweden, €105m in Germany and ?110m in the UK.

The firm said it plans to establish an offshore technology development centre and expand its advanced demonstration unit production and service facilities in Norway.

GE is also focussing on plans to develop its largest next-generation, 4MW offshore wind turbine that will integrate advanced drive train and control technologies to be tested at a facility in Norway.

The company will also expand existing facilities, create a conceptual and systems design centre and install a technology demonstration unit in Sweden.
