Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company (OG&E) is seeking approval from local authorities to build and operate a new 198MW wind farm in the US state.
The $400m Crossroads wind project will be developed by RES Americas in Dewey County, Oklahoma.
OG&E will purchase 86 Siemens turbines with 2.3MW capacity each for the farm that will connect to the firm’s new Windspeed transmission line.
The wind project will enable OG&E to more than quadruple its wind power capacity in 2008 to about 751MW.
The farm is expected to be completed in a year following approval.
