Siemens Energy has received an order to supply the main components for the Yuzhnouralskaya GRES-2 CCP unit in Russia.

Delivery of the components is scheduled for the summer of 2011, with the start of operations set for the end of 2012 when the plant will supply power in the southern Urals.

The power plant, located 100km south of Chelyabinsk, is owned by OJSC Third and was built by EPC.

Siemens will supply a SCC5-4000F 1 S power train comprising an SGT5-4000F gas turbine with a capacity of 288MW, a steam turbine, a hydrogen-cooled generator and a turboset I&C system.

The plant has a single-shaft design, by which the main components – gas turbine, steam turbine and generator – are arranged on a single line of shafting.
