ETA Power Generation plans to invest about INR 5,200 crore ($ 1.1bn) to set up a 1,320MW power plant in Tamil Nadu, India.
The double unit thermal power plant will mark the UAE firm’s entry into the Indian power generation market.
ETA Power Generation Director AA Sadagopan told Business Standard that the firm is in the process of acquiring land for the proposed project.
“We are planning to opt for project clearance once the land acquisition is over, which is in the final stage,” Sadagopan said.
The first unit of the plant is expected to be complete by March 2014 and second unit would follow in six to nine months.
