RWE plans to build a 775MW power station in the Denizli province of Western Turkey in a joint venture with Turcas.
Work on the €500m combined-cycle gas turbine plant is expected to begin in mid-2010.
The power station should go on-stream by the end of 2012.
RWE chief strategy officer Dr Leonhard Birnbaum said that the power station will have an efficiency rate of over 55%.
