Daewoo Corporation will build a 440MW power station at Rotem Plateau in the Negev desert, Israel, for Israel Corporation.

Work on the $470m project will begin later in 2010 and is expected to be complete in December 2012.

Mitsubishi Power Systems will supply the natural gas turbines for the power plant.

The contract includes an option for construction of another power station at the same cost, if Israel Corporation decides to build such a power station in Israel within the next 18 months.
