E.ON has sold the remaining power quota of about 4.8TWh for the Stade power plant in Germany to RWE Power AG.
Vattenfall Europe Nuclear Energy, the other shareholder of the decommissioned nuclear power plant agreed to the sale.
The power plant, operated since 1972 in Bassenfleth, Germany, was the first nuclear plant shut down after Germany’s nuclear phase-out legislation.
The plant was decommissioned in November 2003.
The power production quotas from its decommissioned Stade nuclear power plant will extend the life of RWE’s Biblis A reactor.
