Wind turbine maker Vestas will supply wind turbines to International Power Canada’s Pointe Aux Roches project in southwestern Ontario, Canada.

Under the contract, the firm will deliver 27 units of the V90-1.8MW wind turbines in late 2010.

The 47MW Pointe Aux Roches project is expected to be operational by the first half of 2011.

The farm is being built under Ontario’s feed-in tariff (FIT) programme that was enabled by the Green Energy and Green Economy Act that became law in May 2009.
