Bangladesh has given the go ahead for a 360MW power plant project, officials have announced.
Work on the power station worth about BDT42.15bn ($602.14m) will begin in July 2010 and is expected to be completed by September 2015, according to Xinhua, citing an anonymous source in the Bangladeshi Government.
The power station will comprise a 240MW single-unit gas turbine and a 120MW single-unit steam turbine.
The project will help Bangladesh reach its goal of generating 9,000MW of electricity by 2015. The country currently has a generation capacity of 4,000MW.
