Alstom has unveiled a new facility for the production of steam turbines, gas turbines, large turbo-generators and related equipment in Tennessee, US.

The $300m facility will also undertake work for retrofitting existing steam turbines with new technology.

The facility will cater for the North American market and beyond, and is in line with the Alstom’s clean power strategy.

Equipped with a balancing facility, the unit will be able to build the Alstom’s ARABELLE 1,700MW class nuclear turbine and turbo-generator components.

The facility also features an on-site barge dock with a lifting capacity of up to 1,000t.
