Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will consolidate their hydroelectric power generation system operations to strengthen and expand related businesses.

Hitachi will own a 50% stake in the new firm, while the two Mitsubishi firms together will own the remaining 50%.

The new company will integrate the hydropower activities of the three firms including marketing, installation and servicing of the generation systems for electric utilities in Japan and abroad.

The new firm will also work to engineer the power systems, and the development and design of the main components including water turbines, water turbine generators and control systems.
