Exelon owns and operates the 10MW plant and will market the electricity it generates.
The $60m project is equipped with 32,292 solar photovoltaic panels to generate over 14,000MWh of power each year to meet energy requirements of up to 1,500 homes.
Exelon City Solar is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 31.3 million pounds annually.
