OG&E has received approval from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to build and operate a new wind farm in north-western Oklahoma, US.

OG&E Utility Commercial Operations vice president Jesse Langston said that they reached agreements with customer and shareholder groups, state agencies and regulatory officials that lead the Commission to approve the Crossroads project.

The Crossroads wind farm will add at least 198MW of renewable generation.

With the new Commission order, the wind farm will be allowed to have a generation capacity of up to 227MW.

Crossroads is expected to come online in the second half of 2011 and begin full production in 2012.
