China’s State Grid Energy Research Institute (SGERI) and Vestas have completed the first part of the Joint Study on Coordinated Development of Wind Power and the Electricity Grid.
The study aims to enhance large-scale wind energy integration to the electricity grid and to proactively explore solutions for mass integration of renewable energy sources.
The research project comprises three studies on researching international experiences for coordinated development of wind energy and the electricity grid.
The project researches Jilin wind integration and consumption based on the Jilin Wind Project under the WED programme, and explores solutions for turbine and wind power plant adaptations to grid requirements.
In addition to this, it provides a strategy for an integrated solution in promoting China’s wind energy and grid development.
