Suntech Power Holdings will develop solar plants in South Africa with a total capacity of up to 100MW, under a new agreement.
Suntech’s director of investor relations Rory Macpherson told Reuters that the deal had no financial terms.
“We’re exploring developments of solar projects with an unnamed solar firm,” Macpherson said.
The firm is interested in developing the solar market in South Africa and is seeking solar opportunities in the country’s photovoltaic market, which is expected to be worth over $1bn, according to Macpherson.
