Evolution Solar has begun work on the development of a solar demonstration project at Texas Southern University’s Houston campus.
In partnership with the university, Evolution Solar will install eight AmpleSun thin-film photovoltaic panels on the campus to form a part of the new Texas Southern University Green Technology Center.
The project will be Evolution Solar’s first array featuring AmpleSun panels in the US.
Armstead Development Group, which will be responsible for the construction, will relocate fencing surrounding TSU’s existing campus array of solar panels and construct several cement posts for the new array.
Following the construction, the array’s rack-mount system will be assembled and eight solar panels will be installed at the site.
EVSO president Robert Hines expects that solar demonstrations, such as the TSU project, will help the firm acquire new projects in a sector that is growing to compete in the energy industry.
