BP Wind Energy has ramped up the Cedar Creek II wind farm in Colarado to full construction.
The 250.8MW project will generate electricity for about 75,000 homes and is expected to be completed by June 2011.
The wind farm will use 63 GE wind turbines, each with a rated capacity of 1.6MW and 60 Nordex wind turbines with a 2.5MW unit capacity.
Power from the Cedar Creek II wind farm has been sold under a long-term power purchase agreement to Public Service Company of Colorado (PSCo).
Output from the wind facility will reach the grid through about 20 miles of new overhead transmission lines, which will tie into the existing Cedar Creek I wind farm’s interconnection with PSCO.
