SunEdison and Gyeongsangnam-do (GSND), a provincial government in southeastern Korea, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop 40MW of solar plants in South Korea.

According to the MOU, SunEdison will use public land and building rooftops to build 400MW of solar power plants.

GSND will aid SunEdison in securing proper land or building areas and in completing the authorisation and permission processes.

The projects are due to be completed by the end of 2013.

The solar projects will enable GSND achieve its renewable energy diffusion target of 15% by 2030.
