ABB has received orders to supply four solar plants for Gestamp Solar in Sicily.

The plants will have a total power capacity of over 17MW.

The main 7.7MW plant will be built in Duccotto and supported by a 2.3MW plant at Francofonte, a 3.3MW plant in Monreale and a 3.8MW plant in Sapeu.

Once connected to the grid, the plants will supply about 27GWh of renewable electric power per year.

The plants valued at $27m will prevent about 14,000t of CO2 emissions per year.
