BP Exploration Operating Company of Aberdeen has awarded a contract to Nexans to deliver a subsea umbilical system for the Devenick gas field in the North Sea.

The system will comprise four umbilicals: one SSIV (Subsea Isolation Valve) umbilical, one main umbilical and two infield umbilicals.

The umbilicals will be manufactured at Nexan’s Halden facility in Norway and delivered in spring 2011, while additional fiberoptic and electrical elements will be delivered from Rognan facility, also in Norway.

Devenick gas condensate field is a high-pressure, high-temperature field located about 37km north of the East Brae host platform, initially developed by two wells (S1 and S2) connected to a subsea manifold.
