Acciona Windpower, subsidiary of Spanish Acciona Group, has won turbine supply orders for a Mexican wind energy project.
According to the deal signed between Acciona and the other undisclosed firm, the former will deliver 43 of its 3MW turbines for the facility.
The renewable energy project will house AW125/3000 turbine models developed by the Spanish entity.
The turbines will have a rotor diameter 125m and be mounted atop steel towers.
Acciona Windpower chief executive José Luis Blanco said: "We are very pleased to continue increasing our order portfolio in Mexico with new customers, and this confirms the growing interest of the wind power sector in our AW 3000 turbine."
The deal raises the renewable energy firm’s capacity in Mexico to 988.5MW, 38% of which comprises of its 3MW turbine models.
At present, Acciona Windpower is responsible for turbine deliveries at two wind energy projects in Nuevo León, Mexico, totalling 252MW. The firm also has also received an order to deliver 1.5MW turbines for a 49.5MW power project in Oaxaca.
The firm had further secured a 195MW turbine delivery contract for a wind power project in the state of PiauÃ, north-east Brazil.
