CBRE Solar, a subsidiary of CB Richard Ellis Group, and Jacoby Development have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Cobb Electric Membership Corporation (Cobb EMC) to construct a 10MW photovoltaic ground-mounted solar project in Georgia, the US.
Under the terms of the agreement, CBRE Solar and Jacoby will develop, finance, and build the facility and sell all of the power to Cobb EMC through a 25-year PPA.
Cobb EMC president and CEO Chip Nelson said the company is pleased to add this new solar generation to its distributed energy mix.
"When we can add renewable energy to our mix without causing significant cost increases to our members, we are glad to do so,"said Nelson.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year and will create up to 75 local construction jobs.
