DONG Energy has sold its 33% interest in the Norwegian onshore wind company Kvalheim Kraft, which owns two operating wind farms, Mehuken 1 and 2, to Vardar Boreas.
Vardar Boreas already holds a 33% stake in Kvalheim Kraft.
The two wind farms, which are located close to the west coast of Norway approximately 300km north of Bergen, have a total installed capacity of around 23MW.
The Mehuken 1 wind farm has a generating capacity of 4.25MW, while Mehuken 2 has 18.4MW.
The company said it is now focusing more on developing, constructing and operating offshore wind farms.
DONG Energy Wind Power executive vice-president Samuel Leupold said, "To date we have installed offshore wind turbines capable of delivering power sufficient for the annual consumption of more than two million households.
"By 2020 we want to triple this number so that a total of more than six million households can get their power from DONG Energy’s offshore wind turbines."
The company claimed that it has installed more than one out of three offshore wind turbines.
DONG Energy has offshore wind farms in operation in Denmark and the UK, an offshore wind farm under construction in Germany, onshore wind farms in operation in Sweden and France, and onshore wind development projects in Norway.
Leupold said the company so far has installed offshore wind turbines capable of delivering power enough for the annual consumption of more than two million households.
