Spanish utility Iberdrola has completed the construction of the 304MW Blue Creek wind farm located in the Van Wert and Paulding Counties of Ohio, US.

The wind farm employs 152 units of Gamesa G90 turbines with a capacity of 2MW each.

Iberdrola signed a power purchase agreement with US firm FirstEnergy Solutions in Feburary last year for 100MW of the total output of the project over the next 20 years.

The firm has also announced that it has commenced work on the Manzana wind power project located near the town of Rosamond in California.

The project will have installed capacity of 189 MW employ and 90 GE turbine nacelles, which were manufactured at GE’s factories in Tehachapi and Florida.

The company has also signed two agreements for the power generated by this facility; the first agreement is with San Diego Gas & Electric company, which will receive the 100MW of power generated over the next 20 years.

The second agreement has been signed with Silicon Valley Power, which will receive 50MW of the energy produced over the same period.
